What you’ll do
Are you interested in an opportunity for hands-on data analysis and to inspire change through data insights? Interning with our Commercial Terminals Quality Engineering Team at Viasat will give you that experience!
As an intern, you will play a meaningful role to the business, offering recommendations derived from their analyses, and leading cross-functional teams to manage process and product improvement efforts. This experience will require a combination of skills including data analytics and project management.
The day-to-day
- Review Viasat and Supplier product yield and field reliability data for trends.
- Provide analysis and recommendations using data to tell compelling stories and influence action.
- Drive root cause investigations and process improvement efforts using tools such as Pareto Analysis, Histograms, Cause & Effect Diagrams, and Cpk.
- Engage with teams to establish relationships focusing on solving problems to enhance quality, timely delivery, and cost efficiency.
What you’ll need
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
- Experience in research or has completed a prior internship involving data analytics.
- Proficient in Python.
- Available to commit to a 10-12 week summer internship.

- Strong communication skills with good executive presence; ability to facilitate difficult issues and drive cross-functional teams for closures.
- Familiarity with quality tools, including Cpk, FMEA, sampling plans, data distribution, Gauge R&R, and data correlation is a plus.
- Drive ongoing product improvements through collaboration with cross-functional and OEM partners.
