Major: Chemistry
Graduation Date: May 2024
Employer: Cargill – Wahpeton, ND

Gyolai’s journey at the NDSU Career and Advising Center has shaped her career path and opened doors to exciting opportunities in the field of chemistry. Gyolai, who is set to graduate in May 2024 with a chemistry degree, has accepted a job at Cargill as a food safety, quality chemist.

Her path to this exciting opportunity began at the Spring Career Expo organized by the NDSU Career and Advising Center. With over 250 employers actively seeking skilled NDSU students, Gyolai seized the chance to connect with potential employers. Among them was Cargill, a company she recognized and admired for its presence in her community. “Thanks to the colorful ribbons symbolizing the fields they were searching for, I knew they were looking for someone in the sciences, someone like me,” Gyolai said. During the Spring Career Expo, Cargill representatives were approachable and eager to hear about Gyolai’s experiences and career goals. The initial meeting led to a next-day interview on campus and set the stage for her future with the company.

Gyolai said she’s looking forward to working with a variety of people with different backgrounds and strengthening her industry skills and knowledge. She said students should utilize available resources at NDSU, seeking guidance when needed and seizing every opportunity that comes their way. “College, and the rest of your life, is what you make of it, so get the most out of it,” she said.

Gyolai will start her career journey with Cargill after her graduation in May of 2024.
