Social Work Career Fair and Registering for Classes

Happy Monday Bison! We have a couple of topics we are going to cover today as we wrap up career fair season as well as the start to registering for classes.

Did you know we have another career fair coming up later this week? Its the Social Work Career Fair! This is the first time this event has taken place and we hope it will benefit those in social work. This fair will take place in the Memorial Union in the Oceti-Sakowin Ballroom this Thursday October 12th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. All students studying HDFS/Social Work are invited to take part in this fair.

Now to switch the topic a little bit, lets talk about registering. Registration starts October 26th for the Spring 2024 semester. Your specific registration dates depends on how many credits you have. To check when you register, go to Campus Connection to Manage Classes to Enrollment Dates. You then choose what semester you are registering for, and then it should tell you what day you register!

You might be wondering how to register though! That is easy enough, but the first place you want to start is with your academic advisor. They are the best place to go to get a idea of what classes you should be taking to ensure you stay on course to graduate. To schedule a appointment with your academic advisor, find them on Bison Advise and select a time that works best for you. Once you have done that, Schedule Planner is your best friend. Its the place you can go to see all the different schedule options you have for the Spring 2024 semester. Schedule Planner can also be found under the Manage Classes tab. Once your registration appointment begins, you will be able to send the schedule you created to your shopping cart and that will set your schedule for the Spring 2024 semester!

Make sure to meet with your Academic Advisor as soon as possible so you can figure out what classes you want to take so you can register right away before classes fill up!

With any questions you may have during the season of registering, feel free to reach out to the Career and Advising Center, we are always happy to help!
