#NDSUintern Spotlight: Evan Anderson

Major: Mechanical Engineering – Company: Doosan Bobcat  – Location of Internship: Bismarck, ND – Internship Title: Manufacturing Engineering Co-op

  • Why did you choose the company that you work for?
    • I attended one of the NDSU career fairs and saw Bobcat on the list of companies that will be attending the career fair. I’ve been familiar with Bobcat as a household name and had heard very good things about working for Bobcat.
  • What were some of the requirements for your internship?
I was on the ME Sustaining team for the weld area of the Bismarck Factory. Our tasks involved supporting the weld lines, designing solutions for manufacturing problems, designing and implementing new weld line layouts.
  • What is your favorite part about your internship experience?
    • My favorite part of the internship was getting real life experience in manufacturing and seeing how all of the different areas of engineering work together. As well ass the level of freedom and responsibility I was given as a Co-op.
  • What is the most challenging part of your internship? How have you overcome these obstacles?
    • Making sure to have good time and project management. I worked on many projects that would be started but not finished all at once and would have to be picked back up at a later point. Having good notes helps me pick up where I left off. The other part of this was having multiple projects and managing my time to address all of them properly.
  • How did you find your internship?
    • Through the NDSU Career Fair
  • Why was it beneficial for you to register for credit(s) through the Internship Program offered through the Career and Advising Center?
    • It was very beneficial to register my internship for credits.
  • What advice would you give a student who is in the process of applying for an internship?
    • The NDSU career fair is a great place to start looking for Internships!
