New Student Academic Advising and Registration

Welcome to NDSU! We are excited to get to know you and assist with registering for your first semester of classes.
Follow these steps to schedule your individual appointment with an academic advisor for your major.
These appointments are virtual on Zoom.

1. Click on your major in the alphabetical list below. Click the green or yellow “Schedule an Appointment” button based on your student type and when you are starting at NDSU. Some majors also advise based on the first letter of your last name. A new page will open up after you select the correct option.

Any new transfer student (meaning you have attended another institution after graduating high school), student athlete, student in an online only program or if summer will be your first semester at NDSU should choose the green scheduling button.
New first year students starting in fall semester (whether or not you have previously earned college-level credit) should choose the yellow button.


2. Some appointment availability and registration dates will require you to move the calendar ahead and select a date and time that works for you. The first available appointments for the transfer student group begin March 31st and beyond. First year student appointments begin May 1st and beyond.

4. Enter your name, email, phone number, and any notes you’d like to share with the advisor. Please use an email address that you check regularly, as this is where the confirmation email, Zoom link, and reminder emails will be sent.

5. Answer the question at the bottom of the page to indicate your NDSU Student ID number and select Book to finalize your appointment.

6. Please read the confirmation email and reminder emails as the appointment gets closer for important information to have available during the appointment to help your registration go smoothly (Log in information to Campus Connection, access to transfer credit information, etc.).

7. Please call the Career and Advising Center at 701-231-7111 if you need assistance scheduling your new student registration appointment or have questions. We look forward to meeting and welcoming you to NDSU!!
