Smith & Loveless is united under one cause: “Protecting Water. Protecting People.” We are seeking Wastewater Process Engineering Manager to partner with our experienced engineering teams in this environmentally focused industry.

An Wastewater Process Engineering Manager at Smith and Loveless manages the Wastewater Process Engineering Group, including job designs and R&D activities. The Process Engineering Manager is responsible for the proper wastewater process design of municipal and industrial wastewater applications, including component sizing, application, and product start-up.

Skills/Requirements

  • Master’s degree in environmental engineering and/or Biology degree required. PhD specializing in water/wastewater treatment preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years pertinent design experience, including experience with wastewater process design.
  • Certified wastewater plant operator would be a plus.
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work in wastewater environment and complete analytical testing and evaluations.
  • Must be organized and motivated to meet deadlines, detail oriented, and accurate.
  • Must possess good written and verbal communication skills, as well as standard computer skills and interpersonal skills.

Job duties

  • Review job inquiries and sold projects to evaluate job requirements and recommend a process system to meet the requirements.
  • Assist Sales team in developing process requirements.
  • Develop a process flow diagram and sizing for records and assists the Company on Process Warranties.
  • Review and write necessary O&M information pertaining to the process requirements on jobs.
  • Coordinate with Design Engineers to assure proper process designs on specific jobs and on standardized designs.
  • Document and maintain project process information for future reference.
  • Perform testing of the process designs in the field to ensure product performance, and reliability.
  • Develop calculations and process models to be used by others to develop process requirements.
  • Train Sales, Engineering staff, and Representatives to ensure process designs and concepts are known.
  • Participate in customer presentations as necessary to provide a good technical image for the Company.
  • Assist in the development of new process concepts and product designs.
  • Support design and Production Engineering groups on specific job requirements to assure the technical intent of the product is met.
  • Support Field Service on the start-up of specific treatment plants.
  • Assist the Marketing Department to develop literature and information for conferences and trade publications.
  • Prepare presentations and papers on treatment system designs and projects to increase the Company’s exposure and credibility.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned by VP, Engineering.
  • Keep work area neat and clean.
