Event/Food and Beverage Internship

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual eager to immerse themselves in the hospitality industry. As an Event/Food & Beverage Intern, you will have the opportunity to learn valuable knowledge and hands-on experience in various facets of our operations, including inventory management, event execution, and team collaboration.

In this role, you will work closely with our Executive Chef, Event Manager, and Food and Beverage Managers, gaining insights into the intricacies of daily operations. You will actively participate in event planning and execution, allowing you to develop essential leadership and management skills.

This internship is designed to provide you with practical experience that will be instrumental in advancing your career in hospitality. Join us to enhance your skill set and take significant steps toward a successful future in this exciting industry!

The position will range between a minimum of 20 hours and a maximum of 32 hours per week. Full availability would be required for this position including days, nights and weekends.

Event Management:

Assist the Event Manager with the following:

  • Ability to understand event details and be a point person for questions
  • Monitoring Event inventory and supplies such as ordering linens and event supplies (frames, candles, vases, etc.)
  • Execution of weddings and events, including creation of floor charts, ceremony execution, BEOs and closing of weddings
  • Conduct wedding tours
  • Wedding setup and detailing, setting silverware, polishing, A/V needs, etc. and delegating necessary duties to the hourly staff
  • Entering event details such as timeline, menu choices, setup instructions, bar options, etc. into event software, ReserveCloud, and the Function Flag and distribute to Chef/Sous Chef(s)
  • Assist in bartending for events and setting up the bar prior to event starting
  • Update Event and Wedding Packet with current food and beverage pricing
  • Other duties as assigned

FOH Management:

Assist the FOH manager with the following:

  • Working the Expo line, food running and bussing tables
  • Knowledge of our Menus
  • Ability to learn and use Point of Sale
  • Assist in bartending at the Quick Turn and Pony Bar when needed
  • Comfortability with serving member in the dining room when needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursing or recently completed a degree in Hospitality, Event Management, or a related field.
  • Passion for delivering outstanding customer service
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Previous experience in food and beverage or event service is a plus
