The Performance Improvement Specialist, under the general supervision of the Director of Quality, works together with hospital leadership and front-line staff to provide support for quality improvement at AR Gould Hospital. This responsibility extends to throughout the hospital inpatient units and Emergency Department.
This individual will facilitate the performance improvement of the organization across the domains of quality, patient safety, and patient experience by identifying data needs, coordinating improvement activities, providing elbow to elbow education and process reviews, supporting staff and leadership in the development of performance improvement initiatives, and participating in regular analysis of data and processes. The Performance Improvement Specialist will be charged with integrating into the hospital units to support the mission of improvement in the CMS Star ratings, patient safety, and patient experience initiatives. The incumbent will be responsible to provide reports on the status of projects as requested by the Director of Quality.
Through effective planning, actions, and accountability the Performance Improvement Specialist helps to align areas of responsibility with the mission, vision, values, goals and objectives of the hospital organization. This role requires clearly communicate purpose and measurable objectives to organizational priorities, while consistently modeling organization’s values in all interactions.
