Director, Academic Advising
Jessie is an Academic Advisor/Lecturer in the Career and Advising Center. Jessie primarily advises undeclared students interested in either the health fields or business fields. She is passionate about helping students find ways to fit their interests, skills and values with majors and careers that excite them. She teaches UNIV 101, Major Exploration and Academic Planning as a way to help students explore majors.
Jessie also oversees the Bachelor of University Studies program where she works with students to help design an individualized degree program that best fits their interests and career goals. She teaches the UNIV 489 Capstone course required for this degree. Jessie enjoys building relationships with her students to help them succeed in their goals.
Jessie earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and French from Concordia College and her Master’s degree in Community Counseling from North Dakota State University. At home, Jessie enjoys spending time with her husband, son and daughter, being outside, reading, golfing and getting together with friends and family.
Academic & Career Advisor
Missy DeHaan is the academic advisor for first and second year Computer Science majors. She has a passion for working with students, and helping them achieve academic success. Missy takes a holistic approach to advising students because a student’s personal life can directly impact their success as a student. She believes in being friendly and approachable to ensure a good connection can be made with students, staff, and faculty.
Missy earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Minnesota State University Moorhead, and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership at NDSU. She has held other various positions at NDSU since 2010, and continues to learn and grow as a professional every day. In her spare time, Missy enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and dog (Daisy), going to the movies, traveling, and socializing with friends and family.
Academic & Career Advisor
As an Academic and Career Advisor, Corin works with undeclared students interested in liberal arts, communication & design as well as social sciences, human services & education Exploratory Areas. With a focus on future goals, she teaches an exploratory class for her advisees to better understand career outcomes and discover areas they are passionate about while connecting them to the resources they need to be successful.
Corin also advises Psychology students through their sophomore year while helping them plan for their future educational and career goals. She is passionate about students and works to build meaningful connections that support them throughout their university experience.
Corin holds a Masters degree in Educational Leadership with an emphasis is Student Affairs and a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations with Leadership and Advertising minors from Minnesota State University Moorhead. Previous to joining the advising team, she worked in marketing and communications roles in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors. In her spare time, you can find Corin watching movies, reading, listening to podcasts and spending time with her family, friends and dog, Titan.
