Communications and marketing specialist
This position provides editorial and creative leadership for on-brand communication and marketing materials, including print, audio, video, and digital efforts. This position requires strong project management skills to strategically plan and implement cost-effective marketing campaigns. This position also provides communication and marketing expertise to other staff within the organization.
What you’ll do:
• Provide editorial leadership and project management to multiple technical newsletters, blogs, and other communication efforts
• Assist with design, brand development and execution across websites, multi-media, and digital platforms
• Lead social media efforts for the organization and assist with employment advertising efforts
• Write article summaries from Vita Plus presentations and events and provide editorial guidance to staff
• Conduct interviews on-farm with Midwest producers
• Design and develop Vita Plus materials, including brochures, advertising, event promotions and other related items
• Video production, including preproduction, shooting, drone operation and post-production
• Contribute to the management of meetings, trade shows and other company events
• Help safeguard corporate standards regarding identity, brand items and logos

What you need:
• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences communication, journalism or a related field
• Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills
• Ability to understand scientific concepts, ask questions and transfer this knowledge into marketing materials
• Experience in project management and in meeting multiple deadlines
• Demonstrated clear, accurate, and concise writing and editorial skills
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Strong computer skills and proficiency in applications to accomplish marketing objectives (Microsoft Suite,
Adobe Creative Cloud, WordPress, iContact, social media platforms, etc.)
