Welcome to NDSU,
With orientation right around the corner we here at the Career and Advising Center would like to introduce some resources and services we offer that may be helpful for incoming students this fall.
Handshake
Handshake is an excellent way for students to find both jobs and internships. Handshake is also the best place for students to find part time jobs on campus that are flexible with your class schedule.
Using your ndsu.edu email, you will have access to a litany of jobs both on campus and in the Fargo-Moorhead area, as well as both national and international positions. Additionally, after filling out your major and year in school, handshake will match you with positions that you may be interested in. Finally, Handshake is one of the best places to find information on events held by both employers as well as events hosted by NDSU such as the Fall Career Expo.
Resume and Cover Letter Review
When applying for positions it is important to have strong application materials. At the Career and Advising Center we offer resources for creating resumes, cover letters, and CVs. Additionally, you can submit your documents to our Document Review form to have a staff member look over your documents and provide feedback for improvements. You also have the choice of meeting with either a Career Coach or a Career Mentor both in person or online in order to go over your documents.
Career and Major Exploration
Not sure what to major in? The Career and Advising Center has resources that can help identify majors that may interest you as well as help showcase how majors can lead to different careers after graduation.
