Interested in specific companies?

Take the plunge and reach out on your own to companies or people within the field you would like to work. Taking the initiative may seem daunting, but employers appreciate the effort! If you are not sure what to say or would like someone to review the email you plan to send before you send it, feel free to email us and a Career Coach from our office will provide you with feedback/tips on the content.

How to make connection?

  • Check out North Dakota State University on LinkedIn and you will be able to see  alumni from your program and the companies that they work at now. This can help you find contacts to reach out to that you have something in common with…NDSU which can make it easier to start up a conversation via the messaging feature.
  • You can also use LinkedIn to find people who work at specific companies, by searching the company and choosing the People tab on the left-hand side of their page. This will give you a repository of individuals who work there and can give you a place to start for linking with employees to learn more about their company.
  • Family, friends, and faculty all of these people have connections they may be able to put you in contact with so don’t be afraid to reach out and use your network.

For more individualized assistance feel free to email the Career and Advising Center and we are happy to help you with your specific situation.

Let the connections begin!
